Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) converted an encroached dump yard into a garden in Malad West. The civic body planted as many as 4,000 plant saplings in the garbage dump and transformed it into a garden.
The municipal corporation called the dump yard the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Garden. The 2.75 lakh square feet dump yard had over 500 hutments that were cleared by the civic body.
