Springfield senior Molly Smith will return to play for the Lady Jacket soccer team after spending last fall training with the boys of the Tennessee Soccer Club, which is a member of the Elite Clubs National League. One year ago, Smith got a rare opportunity to work with the boys club team, and she felt that move would be more beneficial for her development and recruitment. While she has played plenty with boys growing up, the competition was tougher than anything she has seen before. “Training with boys at that club level was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced,” Smith said. “The speed of play, the physicality, how they prepare mentally for every practice, every game, it was definitely something I wasn’t used to, but I definitely feel like I am a better player because of that experience.”
