Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds are staying around for at least two more seasons.
The Bills on Monday exercised the fifth-year options of both players’ contracts and retained the 2018 first-round draft picks through the 2022 season. The move comes at a combined price of about $36 million, with Allen set to make nearly $23 million in his final year.
The fifth year of the contracts is guaranteed, though the Bills can renegotiate the deals.
(CLEVELAND) The Cleveland Browns have signed free-agent defensive tackle Malik McDowell.
McDowell was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft but has not appeared in an NFL game after sustaining a head injury during an ATV accident that placed him on the non-football injury reserve list. He was waived by the team in 2018.
ESPN reports McDowell also was sentenced to 11 months in jail and three year’s probation in 2019 in Michigan after he was charged with assault, resisting arrest, and driving while intoxicated after getting into a fight with two police officers during a DUI stop.

CLEVELAND, Ohio The Browns added eight new players to their roster over the weekend. It will be a while before we see any of them on the field with the team’s roster of veterans, but each pick is still an opportunity to learn something about the Browns’ approach to team building and the draft.
Here is one lesson from each pick Andrew Berry and Co. made over the weekend.

Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns announced the singing of eight year veteran defensive tackle, Damion Square.
Square has spent the last seven seasons with the Chargers, both in the Los Angeles as well as San Diego variety. Most of that time, Square was playing a five-tech defensive end that could slide inside.
For the Browns, the 6 2 293 pound defensive lineman would likely be competing for a spot as a three-tech that might be able to play big end in spots not unlike Malik Jackson.
The odds would seem incredibly long for the 32-year old Square given that he has signed onto a roster with Jackson, Jordan Elliott entering year two and Tommy Togiai, who was drafted as a fourth round pick over the weekend.
