Paramus NJ schools to have five days in person

PARAMUS By the end of the month, students will be able to attend school five half-days a week in person, up from four half-days a week now.  Just last week, students who had been separated into cohorts were reunited to attend classes together in person.  It was an emotional day for parents, teachers and students on Tuesday when students entered the building together for the first time in months, seeing friends they hadn t been able to see in a long time, said Superintendent Sean Adams.  I can t tell you how amazing it s been, Adams said. It was so incredibly energizing. You can see them smiling in their eyes and students were skipping down the halls and running out of the cars, so desperate and eager to get into school to see their in-person friends again.

Woodland Park NJ mom died of coronavirus days after birth

It s hard for Chad Augustus to think about the many things his wife, Joanna, will miss: birthdays, holidays, their sons first days of school. Perhaps the most difficult for him to accept, however, is that she never got the chance to hold her newborn son in her arms.  She was beautiful inside and out, Augustus said. I was blessed to have her by my side. It s been two weeks since Joanna Jimenez died, a few days after having an emergency C-section while experiencing complications from COVID-19. Her baby, Ashton, was born healthy, a month early.  Jimenez, of Woodland Park, was outgoing, with a straightforward personality. She was interested in beauty, skincare and designing and loved to pitch in when friends were having an event that needed decorating.

The village posted a note on its website on Feb. 7 telling residents they must seek appointments for vaccinations elsewhere. Ridgewood had set up its own vaccination clinic after what Mayor Susan Knudsen called months of planning and a “tremendous” quantity of resources, but the clinic is now unused because the town has no vaccines to give out. © Tariq Zehawi/USA Today Network
