The three founders of The Sea Box, a new direct seafood delivery service, have Marshfield fishing in their blood.
Brothers Mike and Dan Herb, are fourth generation commercial fishermen and operate their own lobster boats and Jeff Scott, their cousin, is the grandson of a previous owner and operator of the Green Harbor Lobster Pound, and he works for the oldest seafood wholesaler in Boston.
All three, graduates of Marshfield High School, are entrenched in the world of fishing, and were easily able to identify a void in home delivery space when it came to seafood.
Each of the four candidates running for School Committee in next month’s town election identified COVID-19 as a main reason for running, Both challengers, Ashleigh MacKinnon and Eric Kelley, criticized the decisions and actions of the existing board which includes two incumbents, Sean Costello and Kendra Stetson Campbell, up for reelection.
Both Costello and Stetson Campbell said they stood by the board’s decisions, most significant of which were the decisions to return to the school year in a hybrid model and eventually bringing students back fully in-person starting on this week.
“I think we have made the best decisions we could with the information we had at the time,” Stetson Cambpell said. “We are looking at feedback from parents, from students, from teachers, we’re looking at DESE guidelines, we’re looking at CDC guidelines, and a lot of times they don’t match or they change.”

Some parents are worried about safety standards as well as minority and immigrant families that have been hit hard by the pandemic.
The rally comes after Massachusetts reported a record high of 1,045 new COVID -19 cases in schools this week, which experts attribute to full-time in-person learning, and an increase in COVID-19 testing among school districts.
