Man charged with rape accused of having sex with incapacitated woman

From The Tribune staff reports MOBILE  Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the arrest of a Prattville man for first-degree rape. Bradley Wise Campbell, 23, surrendered April 30 at the Baldwin County Jail and was released on a $15,000 bond. Attorney General Marshall’s Criminal Trials Division presented evidence to a Baldwin County grand jury on March 23, resulting in an indictment returned against Campbell on the same day. Specifically, the indictment charges Campbell with engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim while the victim was incapable of consent by reason of being incapacitated. No further information about the investigation or about Campbell’s alleged crime other than that stated in the indictment was released.

Terry Van Lewis, 63, of Montgomery, surrendered Monday at the Butler County Jail, with a bond set at $100,000. Attorney General Marshall’s Criminal Trials Division presented evidence to a Butler County grand jury on March 9, resulting in an indictment against Lewis for first-degree sexual abuse. Specifically, the indictment charges that Lewis subjected another person to sexual contact by forcible compulsion. Additional charges are pending from Lewis’ previous indictment in 2019 for one count of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
