Gbarnga The decision by President George Mannah Weah to rescind the transfer of Jonah Nulee Togbah to Rivercess County against the wishes of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor appears to signal yet another twist in the reported rift between the president and his vice president.
The Ministry of Health on January 22, 2021 transferred Togbah, administrator of Bong County Health Services, to Rivercess County, replacing him with Lasanah Kromah, Warehouse manager of the Ministry of Health.
In a letter addressed to Togbah by Norwu Howard, deputy minister for administration of the Ministry of Health and sister to the vice president, the ministry said the decision to transfer Togbah was part of its rotational policy of staff.

Kokoyah District, Bong County – Not a single project will be dedicated during president George Mannah Weah’s three-day tour of Bong county despite his government dishing out a whopping US$ 1.8 million in Social Development Funds to fund projects from January 2018 to January 2021.
Though the Executive Mansion says the president’s visit to the county is “aimed at interacting with citizens and not to dedicate projects,” the reality is nothing substantial has been achieved from the Social Development Funds in Bong since Weah became president three years ago.

Gbarnga – Since January 2018 to January 2021, the government has disbursed US$ 1.8 million to Bong county through the Social Development Funds to fund 13 projects, but so far only one project has been completed – the renovation of the headquarters of the Group of 77 in Gbarnga.
The remaining 12 projects, according to Steve Mulbah, chairman of the county’s Project Management Committee, are on hold because the county doesn’t have the money to complete those projects.
“Right now the county doesn’t have money to complete the remaining 12 projects across the county,” Mulbah said, saying: “I am not optimistic whether those projects would be completed when the county gets money from government.”

Gbarnga – The Board of Phebe Hospital has cleared two of its former staff of allegations of payroll paddling and financial misapplication.
It can be recalled, the hospital’s Board in July 2019 suspended four of its senior staff for time indefinite, including Kerson K. Saykor, administrator of the hospital, Patrick Y. Jackson, comptroller of the hospital, Jonathan L. Pewu, Human Resource manager of the hospital and Jeremiah F. Akoi, senior accountant of the hospital, in anticipation of an audit by the Internal Audit Agency following claims of financial misapplication at the hospital by Bong’s District Three lawmaker, Marvin Cole.
