The Emergency Management team is moving into the recovery
phase as a period of more settled weather is predicted
during the rest of the week. While there may be some rain
over the weekend this is not forecast to be of any
significance.
Marlborough Emergency Management
Incident Controller Richard McNamara says during the
recovery agencies will continue to work to assess, repair
and clear the roads to enable access in affected
areas.
“This may take some time but it remains a
priority,” Mr McNamara said.

Operations Centre is continuing to keep an eye on the
weather situation which is expected to pass through the
region quickly today.

continuing to liaise with MetService and NIWA for the latest
weather information.

mainly fine forecast for tomorrow. A period of more settled
weather is predicted over the rest of the

The team at Marlborough’s
Emergency Operations Centre is keeping an eye on a weather
system expected to bring rain to Rai Valley, the Awatere
Valley and the Marlborough Sounds from the early hours of
Monday morning until early evening. The MetService advises
that the period of rain, with some heavy falls possible, is
likely to total 40 to 70mm with peak rates of 5 to
10mm/h.
