The 3food4u initiative will be opening a fifth hub A community project that is continuing to provide help to those in need during the national lockdown is expanding again by opening a fifth community surplus hub at the end of this month. The 3food4u charity, which offers free food, home essentials, clothes and toys without assessment or referral, is launching its next hub on Thursday, January 28 from 1pm to 2.30pm and weekly thereafter. This will be based at Zinc Arts, High Street, Chipping Ongar CM5 0AD and it means 3food4u will be able to operate six sessions a week.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced tougher restrictions would be necessary to try and curtail the surge in Covid-19 cases in a TV address to the nation on Monday night. The 3food4u initiative is allowed to continue to provide its service during lockdown and a normal timetable will still be in operation to help the community when its needed the most. The service is open five days a week and operates on a non-referral, non-assessment basis, so people can just drop in on the following days at one of these hubs:
