Imcyse Raises €21 3M for Therapies in MS, Other Autoimmune Diseases

5 (3) Imcyse has raised €21.3 million ($25.8 million) in funding to advance its innovative immunotherapy platform for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) and other severe autoimmune diseases. The funding was a result of a series B financing round featuring existing investors such as Biogenosis, Société Fédérale de Participations et d’Investissement, and the Catholic University of Leuven, as well as the newest investor Pfizer, which took an equity stake as part of a previously announced licensing agreement. “Completing this financing round reinforces the strength of the Company, allowing us to advance our programs to the next phase of development,” Denis Bedoret, PhD, Imcyse’s CEO, said in a press release.

AI-powered Robotic Glove May Help Improve Hand Grip for MS Patients

4.1 (14) BioLiberty, a Scottish biotech startup, has developed a robotic glove that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the hand grip in people with muscle weakness due to multiple sclerosis (MS) and other conditions. The technology may be closer to entering people’s homes now that the startup has secured support from the Edinburgh Business School’s Incubator, based at Heriot-Watt University, in Scotland. “Up to now, we’ve funded the company from business competition awards so being accepted into the Edinburgh Business School Incubator program is a huge boost,” Ross O’Hanlon, one of the four engineering graduates who founded BioLiberty, said in a press release.
