THE richest person in Northern Ireland is Lady Ballyedmond, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
As deputy chairwoman of Norbrook Laboratories, Lady Ballyedmond (Mary Haughey) is ranked as the 135th richest person in the UK, with an overall wealth of £1.247 billion.
She is the only billionaire from the north among 171 across the UK.
However, figures released in the list reveal her family s wealth has decreased by £98m within the last two months.
The 73-year-old inherited her late husband Eddie s veterinary pharmaceutical firm after he died in a helicopter crash in 2014. He founded the company in 1969.

LINCOLN, Neb. (Press Release) Although a year later than originally scheduled, Nebraska Football is headed across the Atlantic Ocean for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Ireland. Nebraska will take on Northwestern on Aug. 27, 2022 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
Nebraska was originally scheduled to travel to Ireland to open the 2021 season against Illinois, but due to logistical challenges surrounding COVID-19 that game was moved to Champaign.
“We are excited to reschedule the trip to Ireland for our football program,” Nebraska Athletic Director
Bill Moos said. “The young men in our program have been looking forward to this trip and we are happy to provide them this memorable experience. I know our great Husker fan base will be excited as well and the opportunity to travel to Ireland to see their team compete on an international stage will truly be special.

A dispute involving a minority shareholder and the directors of a company with significant stakes in commercial property at Dublin Citywest Campus has been admitted to the fast-track Commercial Court.
The action concerns Oviedo Ltd, whose business includes the management of a substantial commercial and residential property development at Citywest.
Swiss-registered Fulman Holdings Sarl, which owns 33.6 per cent of Oviedo, claims the board of Oviedo has been acting in an oppressive manner and in disregard of its shareholders’ rights and interests.

The Hastings Hotel Group has a 50% share in the Merrion hotel in Dublin with businessmen, Lochlainn Quinn and Martin Naughton sharing the other 50% share
The impact of Covid-19 last year plunged the co-owner of the five star Merrion hotel in Dublin into the red to record pre-tax losses of £16.55 million or €19.25 million.
New accounts for the Northern Ireland based Hastings Hotels Group lay bare the impact of Covid-19 on the hotel sector as revenues almost halved at the group from £49.37 million to £25.12 million in the 12 months to the end of October last.
The loss includes an exceptional cost of £5.27 million concerning the non-cash write down of assets.
