Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday trashed Al Jazeera’s latest report on Bhasan Char saying it is based on false information and part of its vindictive approach towards Muslim majority countries. They re doing it from day one. Their aim is to confuse people with false information, he told journalists.
The Foreign Minister said it is Al Jazeera s vindictive approach towards any Muslim government, specially against the countries which are doing well.
The Qatar-based media reported that aid agencies warned that with the cyclone season fast approaching, a group of Rohingya refugees on Bhashan Char could be stranded and face food shortages when severe storms strike.

Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Friday the United Nations (UN) turned up with a “very positive” note in an initial report on Rohingyas relocation at Bashanchar island.
“Initially, they gave us a 2-page initial assessment report (regarding the Bhashan Char), and their report is very positive,” he told BSS adding that his office now awaited a detailed UN report on the relocated Rohingyas at the offshore island.
A UN technical team recently visited the island and reviewed the facilities for Rohingyas as several rights groups until recently were apprehensive of the situation of these Burmese ethnic minority people driven out by Myanmar military four years ago.
