Among the startups recognized was Paramium Technologies, a startup based on a method for shaping precision metals that was developed in the James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences.
The company received a finalist award of $5,000 in the science and technology category and was selected as a runner-up for the People s Choice award.
Justin Hyatt, a senior research associate at the university s Steward Observatory and former student of renowned inventor and Regents Professor
Roger Angel, led the development of the new technology, which the startup will initially use to precisely and inexpensively manufacture custom antennas.
TLA performed patent and market analyses for the technology, then formed a team to help Hyatt through the formation of the startup, eventually licensing the patent to the newly formed company.

Swiss showjumper Martin Fuchs is currently ranked number three in the world and this weekend (Sunday, 25 April) he will be bidding to win a second leg of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
The 28-year-old became a live contender for the prestigious Rolex Grand Slam when winning in Geneva in December 2019 and, after a 16 month hiatus, Martin once again picks up the Grand Slam baton at the Dutch Masters in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
28-year-old Martin is a Rolex Testimonee and started 2021 at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, before heading to Italy to compete in the CSI3 at Gorla Minore.

It s gearing up to be another memorable year for equestrian ace Shane Sweetnam after the Castlemagner native beat stiff opposition to clinch victory at a five-star event in Palm Beach, Florida.
The 40-year-old, who is based in Florida, edged a dramatic jump-off in the Douglas Elliman Real Estate Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival in the Palm Beach International Equestrian Centre.
The event, which featured a field of 40 entrants, including five of the world s top-10 ranked riders, saw Sweetnam and his 12-year-old Reinlander gelding Alejandro emerge victorious following the nine-rider jump-off - earning them a cool $132,330 in the process.
