Victims of fiery Marquette Township crash identified

• Jun 21, 2021 MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI Two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 550 in Marquette Township Saturday. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded around 1 a.m. to Wetmore Landing. They say a Tesla was southbound when it drove off the roadway, struck a power pole, continued a short distance and came to rest in the tree line. The vehicle caught fire and became engulfed. A man and woman in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. County Road 550 was closed for several hours while officials investigated the scene. © 2021 WNMU-FM

MARQUETTE, Wis. (WMTV) - A statewide Silver Alert is being issued for a 78-year-old man from Marquette County. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says Dale Myers was last seen at 5 p.m. at a residence on Tuesday, June 8 in Elk Ave Oxford. He appears to have left the residence with his 12-year-old black English Lab. Myers drives a light gray, 2019 Honda Ridgeline, with a Wisconsin license plate number of GY3385. However, authorities say his daughter says the plant might be numbered 300LKJ.

Neighbor finds toddler who wanders from home

Township Police received a call Wednesday afternoon that the child had wandered away from her home. Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community assisted in the search. Shortly after they were called out, Chocolay Police received a call from a neighbor about 0.3 miles from the home. He said the child was in his yard playing. Officers reunited the toddler with her parents. Tags:
