The Brandon School Division publicly appointed Mathew Gustafson as the organization’s acting superintendent and chief executive officer during Monday’s board of trustees meeting.
During this meeting, board chair Linda Ross said BSD Supt. Marc Casavant is currently absent for personal reasons.
As such, Gustafson’s role was officially upgraded from assistant superintendent to acting superintendent through a carried motion on Monday, although the language of this motion indicates that he has held this role since Jan. 4. I look forward to working with the board of trustees, the administration, schools, staff and parents towards improving our student achievement, he said on Monday night.
