Oxygen tanker leaks in Goa hospital, one injured ANI | Updated: May 11, 2021 19:42 IST Panaji (Goa) [India], May 11 (ANI): One person sustained injuries due to leakage from an oxygen tanker in South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) in Margao on Tuesday afternoon. Clouds of smoke were seen coming out from the tanker. After we were informed about the incident, our team went to the spot. There was no fire, only leakage of oxygen from the tanker. We asked for reinforcement. Two fire engines reached the spot and we managed to stop the leakage after 30 to 40 minutes. A person was injured due to cold burns. Everyone worked jointly, Nitin Raikar, Deputy Director, Fire Department, South Goa, told reporters.

Oxygen supplying process streamlined, says Goa CM ANI | Updated: May 11, 2021 23:36 IST Panaji (Goa) [India], May 11 (ANI): Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday admitted that there is a delay in supplying oxygen to hospitals in Goa amid the surge in COVID-19 cases but ensured that the process will be streamlined from today. There is a delay in oxygen supply but we have availability, can t hold doctors responsible for delay. For mismanagement, administration needs to be streamlined. I have monitored it personally, it will be streamlined by evening, said CM Pramod Sawant briefly to ANI who visited Goa Medical College today. The hospital requires 400 jumbo cylinders but now provision would be made to get 600 cylinders, the chief minister said.

2477 Panaji, May 11 A minor oxygen leakage occurred at the South Goa district hospital (SGDH) in Margao on Tuesday afternoon when the gas was being filled in the main storage tank on the campus from a tanker, but there is no casualty, a police official said. The SGDH is one of the biggest state-run facilities in treating COVID-19 patients. The medical oxygen leaked when the gas was being transferred to the main tank of the hospital from a tanker. There were no casualties as the leakage was plugged within a few minutes, he said. District officials who rushed to the spot said a report on the causes behind the incident will be submitted to the state government. PTI

In an official statement, he said, It is once again clear that the insensitive and irresponsible BJP government has no concern for goans. The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant promises to supply oxygen to neighbouring states like Maharashtra when Goa itself is facing shortage.
