There definitely were some major problems, but much of that has been weeded out and we re looking toward a bright future for Lynn Haven, said mayoral candidate Joe Brown, who has more than 20 years in finance management in city and county government.

Navigating through an exhausting condensed schedule during the coronavirus pandemic, staying healthy, and playing with masks on were among the many challenges confronting the Evanston team during the 2021 high school basketball season.
And with the season on the line Wednesday night at Beardsley Gymnasium, the Wildkits kept the faith and kept their masks on.
But there was no more social distancing - especially on defense.

The Wildkits crowded Maine South on every possession, limiting the Hawks to just 4 field goals total over the first 3 quarters on their way to a 45-33 triumph and earned at least a share of the Central Suburban League South division championship for the 7th year in a row.

It was only fitting that Blake Peters turned out to be the hero on his historic night.
The Evanston senior climbed to No. 1 on the school s career scoring list Wednesday night, but his legacy won t be that of a scorer - just of a winner.
Peters converted a pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds left in the third overtime as the Wildkits escaped Park Ridge with a 54-52 Central Suburban League South division marathon win over Maine South.

Peters reputation as a Maine South-killer was established with that memorable full-court shot he made to sink the Hawks his freshman year. Wednesday, he scored a game-high 23 points, 16 of them coming in the fourth quarter and the overtime periods.

On December 31, 2020, the Census Bureau missed a crucial deadline that caused a huge sigh of relief in Democratic circles. Statutory law dictates the Bureau must report the data that will determine reapportionment of House seats to the president by the end of the year. But a global pandemic and administrative interference combined to make this impossible. It was the first missed census deadline since the December 31 date was established in 1976. As of January 12, bureau officials were telling courts that they were now working toward completing the count by March 6, 2021.
