Kevin Fiala in and Zach Parise out.
That s how the Wild adjusted its lineup Friday when the team squared off against the Ducks at Xcel Energy Center in its second-to-last home game of the regular season.
Fiala returned to action after he sat out Wednesday because of a lower-body injury, an issue that wasn t serious but one the team treated with caution. He was reunited with center Victor Rask, a dynamic duo of late for the Wild, and they were joined by Marcus Johansson.

ST. PAUL, MN (AP) – Alex Pietrangelo scored at 1:53 of overtime, giving the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 victory on Wednesday after another late rally by the Minnesota Wild.
Alex Tuch, the Wild’s first-round draft pick in 2014, set up Pietrangelo with a pass across the slot that let the West Division-leading Golden Knights loosen the race a little. Six of the eight games between these teams were one-goal decisions, a tantalizing potential postseason preview.
”As you get up to the playoffs, everything becomes obviously more competitive. I think this year, too, as teams start funneling more fans into the building, it creates that atmosphere again that really is fun to be a part of,” Pietrangelo said.

But Bonino has also discovered a niche at the front of the net. He s been a net-front guy throughout his career, coach Dean Evason said. He s committed to doing that. He s not getting out of the goalie s eyes. He s getting in his eyes. But he still has that intelligent mind-set to know when to pop out for a bang-bang play low to the slot or low to the back door. He gets it. He s been very valuable in that spot.
Bonino has roved on the power play throughout his career, lining up along the half wall, in the middle and at the front of the net. The Wild has used him as a screen, and he s had a knack for it.
We re into the final week-plus (for most teams) of the 2021 NHL season, and while 16 of them will be competing for the Stanley Cup this spring and summer, 15 of them will begin to devise their plan to get back in the playoff mix in 2021-22.
Usually, it s a pretty straightforward exercise of determining which free agents to re-sign and which to let explore the market, along with tweaks to be made via trade, and additions to the pipeline courtesy of the draft. This summer, however, there s the added wrinkle of the Seattle Kraken expansion draft and any side deals that must be made to sway GM Ron Francis to stay away from choosing certain players to join his roster.
