Mountain View leaders celebrated city achievements and residents’ perseverance through a trying 2020 as the city council Jan. 12 appointed a new mayor and vice mayor, and welcomed two newly elected council members.

Praise went to outgoing mayor Margaret Abe-Koga – who was re-elected to another four years on the council in November – and outgoing council members Chris Clark and John McAlister. Both offered farewell remarks on their eight years on the council. Abe-Koga said it was “hard not to get emotional” as she said goodbye to her departing colleagues.
