It didn’t feel look too many people were in the Hulu Theater to see the boxing portion of TrillerVerz, but Michael Hunter and Chris Algieri both took care of business in one-sided fashion as the new series premiered.
Hunter improved to 20-1-1 (14 KO) by dominating Mike Wilson in their heavyweight main event, scoring a knockdown and stoppage in the fourth round. The 33-year-old Hunter was never really tested at all by Wilson (21-2, 10 KO), who was once a top American amateur but is now 38 and has been a club fighter in his professional career, save for a loss to Denis Lebedev in 2018.

Unified super lightweight champion Josh Taylor still has some business to attend to at 140 pounds. Bob Arum, when asked about the possibility of “The Tartan Tornado” facing Terence Crawford, told FightHype that Taylor will face WBO mandatory challenger Jack Catterall this November in the UK.
Taylor (18-0, 13 KO), last seen lifting the WBC and WBO titles from Jose Ramirez, previously stated his desire to face Catterall (26-0, 13 KO) in July and either Crawford or Teofimo Lopez by the end of 2020. Looks like the timetable’s shifted, as Arum confirmed that a hypothetical Taylor-Crawford matchup wouldn’t take place until 2022.
