Council leader pays tribute to SNP campaigners after election defeat

Voters across Scotland went to the polls yesterday, with counts throughout the country getting underway this morning - and all eyes are on the Dumbarton constituency, after just 109 votes separated Labour from the SNP in 2016.

Hello welcome to the Lennox Herald s live coverage of the 2021 Scottish Parliament election. Voters turned out in big numbers yesterday, and that was certainly the case in the Dumbarton constituency - with Labour s Jackie Baillie and the SNP s Toni Giugliano battling it out for the seat.
We aren t expecting counting to begin for the Dumbarton seat until this afternoon, with a result expected before 8pm this evening.
West Dunbartonshire voters head to the polls
Votes can be cast until 10pm tonight with a result for the Dumbarton constituency expected tomorrow evening.
