Amazon illegally fired two employees, labor board finds
Amazon illegally fired last year two of its corporate employees who had been vocal critics of the company, the National Labor Relations Board has found.
The employees, Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa, organized workers around climate action and warehouse conditions during the pandemic before their firings in April 2020.
The federal agency said it would issue a complaint if the case was not settled, according to The New York Times, which first reported the news Monday. The NLRB confirmed the finding to CNN Business.
Cunningham told CNN Business Monday that she “couldn’t be more happy with the news today.”

(Reuters) -Amazon.com Inc illegally fired two employees who advocated for better working conditions during the pandemic, the U.S. National Labor Relations Board has found.
The online retailer last year terminated the employment of Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa, who accused the company of enforcing policies in a discriminatory fashion and having vague rules that “chill and restrain” staff from exercising rights, according to their charge filed in October, seen by Reuters.
The board said on Monday that its regional director in Seattle will issue a complaint if the parties do not settle the case.
