MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – Local events are underway in South Central Kentucky for family fun outdoors.
The Hart County Fair rides opened up at 6 p.m. Monday and will conclude on Saturday night at around 11.
Fairs in the area have gotten started back and the Hart County Fair is no different. On Saturday, they started back with fair activities.
The event will include several activities including beauty pageants, carnival rides, and motor track events.
Jimmy England, the president of the Hart County Fair Board, said watching kids enjoy their time outside is rewarding.
“My favorite part of it all is seeing the young people grow up that are in FFA and 4H and watching them grow up and turn into adults. They win here and then they can go on to the state level and we have a lot of young people that go to the state level, livestock events, 4H events. They all move toward the state,”
When I was a kid, my summers usually consisted of hanging around the house and trips to the Grand Canyon with my family. Don t get me wrong - I had a magical childhood out in the country at a mini-farm that was filled with family, friends, and horses. But I distinctly remember my friends telling me tales of summer camp and I was always a little envious that I didn t get to join in on the fun.
My daughter is eight now and not quite old enough to go away to camp. So, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy it together as a family. I did some research and discovered a place only a couple of hours from us that looked pretty awesome.
