Change-Ups: FBA names Burns director
The Family Business Alliance has named Robin Burns its director. Burns will work with the board and staff to develop and implement the strategic plan of the association whose sole mission is to ensure family businesses throughout West Michigan succeed generation to generation. Burns most recently served as the marketing director and management team member at Rhoades McKee. Established in 2006 in partnership with the Grand Rapids Chamber and Grand Valley State University and re-organized in 2018 as a 501(c)(6) within the Grand Rapids Chamber, the FBA has grown to serve over 160 members.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum has a new exhibit, Windows GR, that features three large-scale art pieces created by local artists of color.
Jalexia Stoutmyre, a multimedia artist; DeVante Barnes, a visual and musical artist; and Guillermo Sotelo, artist and graffiti writer, created three pieces of art for the Windows GR project.
After the Back Lives Matter protest in response to the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer that turned into a riot resulting in damage to vehicles and buildings last year in downtown Grand Rapids, Stoutmyre, Barnes and Sotelo partnered with Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts and a special group of creatives to use the plywood-covered windows as blank canvases, allowing artists to paint pieces that speak out about racism.

Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium Reopens
Now that some of the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted in Michigan, theaters can reopen. That also means that the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium, located at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, will be reopening.
Beginning on Tuesday, December 22nd, the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium will be welcoming visitors on a limited capacity basis.
The Planetarium will host multiple shows every week. This week will include the holiday show, Let it Snow, as well as other shows Ice Worlds , Incoming! , and Under Starlit Skies .
Just in time for the holidays, the “Let it Snow” program is a festive light show. It features a variety of classic songs from greats like Chuck Berry, Burl Ives, Brenda Lee, and Frank Sinatra. There is also a stunning finale by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The music is visually enhanced with animation, special effects, and full-dome scenery.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) announced today that the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium will reopen and welcome visitors on a limited capacity basis starting on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.
The Chaffee Planetarium will host multiple shows per week. The schedule beginning this week will include the holiday show, Let it Snow, as well as other shows Incoming!, Under Starlit Skies and Ice Worlds.
Planetarium tickets are $2 for Museum members, $4 each with general admission to the Museum and $5 each for planetarium only tickets.
The Grand Rapids Public Museum a publicly owned institution that houses 250,000+ artifacts.
