Quick Start Leads Knights Over Hi-Liner Boys

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Grand Forks Central jumped out to a 35-20 halftime lead and held off a late comeback by Valley City for a 70-60 win Tuesday night in Grand Forks. Alex Barbot led the Knights with 26 points. Sam Strandell and Ty Lorenz had 13 points each. Strandell added eight rebounds and five assists. Mason Gravseth had a double-double with 10 points and a game high 11 rebounds. Valley City was led by Peyton Zaun with 21 points and seven rebounds. Drew Zaun had 12 points and Jarred Eggermont just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Central improves to 4-9 in the Eastern Dakota Conference and 4-10 overall. Valley City falls to 4-11 in the EDC and 3-12 overall.

Sophomore Brooks Roaldson jump-started Jamestown with his 4th goal of the season 59 seconds into the game, thanks to a nifty feed from Junior Hunter Nelson. After that, it became a battle of goalies as the 1-0  score stood up through two periods. Period three was all Jamestown as the Jays erupted for six goals including a hat trick from Nolan Nenow, his 15th, 16th, and 17th goals of the season. Fargo, ND, USA / 740 The FAN Jan 18, 2021 9:26 PM FARGO – The Fargo Davies Eagles pulled away from the Kindred Vikings in the second half in a 78-52 win on Monday night. Davies held a one-point advantage at halftime and limited Kindred to 18 points in the final 18 minutes. Marissa Burian scored a season-high 18 points off the bench and made five three-pointers while Brooklyn Koenig added a season-high 16 points and made four three-pointers for Davies. Abby Duchscherer paced Kindred (9-3 overall) with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Terryn Johnson added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings. Davies (8-1 overall) hosts Grand Forks Central on Tuesday. Kindred travels to Grafton for a date with the Spoilers on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Davies downs North 87-59 in boys basketball

Koltyn Grebel Named Wrestler Of The Week

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Koltyn, is an 8th grader and is the starting varsity wrestler for the Hi-Liners at 106lbs. He is the son of York and Nikki Grebel. Kolytn has two older brothers, Koye and Kael, that both wrestle for the Hi-Liners. Koltyn is currently ranked 2nd in the EDC at 106 and has started the year 3-0 coming off wins over wrestlers from Grand Forks Central, Devils Lake and Fargo South. All 3 of his wins were by pin, and one of those pins was at the 113lb weight class. He is a student athlete for the Hi-Liners as he is a member of the “B” Honor roll and
