The Grand Forks Fire Department battled a south side condo fire this afternoon. Crews were notified of the blaze shortly before 12:30 p.m. When they arrived flames were visible from the roof area of Unit C of the Cherry Arms Condominiums on the 3400-3500 block of Cherry Street. Multiple trucks were utilized in extinguishing the fire at the twelve-plex building. There are no known injuries. The bulk of the structural damage appears to be to the roof area. Firefighters remain on the scene looking for hot spots. The cause is under investigation.

No people were injured in a kitchen fire at a home in Grand Forks Saturday afternoon.
The Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a structure fire around 1:52 p.m. Saturday, April 3, to a home on the 3500 block of 10th Avenue North in Grand Forks.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the single-story home, according to a news release from the department. Crews located and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area of the home.
