A married couple who worked as teachers in the same school district died from coronavirus complications while holding each other’s hands this week, their family said.
Paul and Rosemary Blackwell, who were married for 30 years, died just minutes apart at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, NBC News reported Wednesday. The couple had been in intensive care for about two weeks and spent several days on ventilators after contracting COVID-19 just before Thanksgiving, according to the family.
“It really took a toll on them pretty quickly,” one of their sons, Shawn Blackwell, told the network.
