COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) - Friday night, after Governor Henry McMaster called on the department to be more transparent with data the day prior, South Carolinaâs Department of Health and Environmental Control released new numbers on the allocations received and distributed of the COVID-19 vaccine.
A new webpage now exists displaying the number of Pfizer vaccine doses received, the amount administered, and the subsequent utilization rate based on these two numbers for the state of South Carolina.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â A Grand Strand family is celebrating a few small victories as their 13-year-old daughter battles not only COVID-19 but leukemia.
Lauren Hocin has been giving updates on her daughter, Ariel Griffithâs, condition since she got sick a couple of weeks ago.
Ariel, a student at Ocean Bay Middle School, started having health issues. She was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center where she was treated for COVID-19. But according to Lauren, Arielâs condition worsened and they took her to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where they ultimately learned that Ariel has leukemia.
