CANANDAIGUA Ontario County officials are urging patience from students and families as calls increase to resume full-time in-person learning for school districts.
In a statement released Thursday night that referred to the aspirational policy statements made by President Joe Biden and members of his administration when it came to reopening schools, county officials said there has been little advancement in updated policy from health officials. This includes directions and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the state Department of Health and New York s Education Department.
While acknowledging the frustration from students, parents and districts, County Administrator Chris DeBolt tried to dispel some misinformation that he had come across, including the possibility that county health departments could make decisions around when to permit regular in-person learning.
