TWO women have been arrested following an attempted murder in Rochdale. Police were called shortly after 2pm on Saturday, May 22, to reports of a stabbing in Mellor Street, Rochdale. Emergency services attended and enquiries have established that three men arrived in a blue Renault Captu before forcing entry to a property and attacking a man with a machete. A woman was also injured. The men fled the scene in the same car. A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his hands, arms and back and a 53-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a minor injury to her hand.

At around 5.30pm on Tuesday, May 18, police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Rochdale Old Road. Emergency services attended and the pedestrian - who has since been formally identified as 37-year-old Anthony McKenzie - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver stayed at the scene to assist with enquiries and no arrests have been made. Paying tribute to Anthony, his family said: Anthony was the most unique, amazing fun loving man who did as he pleased most of the time.

A family have paid tribute to the most unique, amazing and fun loving man who died in a collision in Bury on Tuesday 18 May 2021.
At around 5.30pm, police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Rochdale Old Road.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian - who has since been formally identified as 37-year-old Anthony McKenzie - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Known as Ant and Macca, Ant had worked at the JD Sports Warehouse at Kingsway for several years.
