Pitso Mosimane dedicated his third Caf Champions League title win‚ beating Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in Saturday’s final in Casablanca‚ to Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib for having shown faith in an African coach.
Mosimane questioned how Fifa’s awards overlooked Africans‚ making the example of how he perhaps set a world record by winning five trophies in the 2019-20 season but was not even nominated for the Coach of the Year award won by Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.

“We really needed this trophy. I know the team from my country also wanted their first star, but we wanted it more than them,” Mosimane told reporters after the match. “The tenth one was the target. It’s good for history, it’s good for our archives. How better to do it than with three goals.
Mashiane was given a straight red card after he made a dangerous tackle on Al Ahly right-back Akram Tawfik on the stroke of half-time.
Mosimane feels that the Chiefs attacker deserved the red card as he let his emotions get the better of him in the biggest match in African club football.
It s not that we not supporting Kaizer Chiefs.

Chiefs management showed that they have issues with 10111. Arthur Zwane would have done better, why was Castro, Ngezana not used in the first half? LakeyMsibi (@LakeyMsibi) July 17, 2021
I m going to say this now.
Bringing Baxter in to take charge for the final was a mistake. A BIG mistake by Kaizer Chiefs. #TotalEnergiesCAFCLFinal#Amakhosi4Life Amakhosi4LIVE (@amakhosi4live) July 17, 2021
Kaizer Chiefs should be proud of their journey to the CAFCL final.
Prior to Al Ahly winning the title last year, they lost back-to-back finals in 2017 and 2018. The most important thing is what Amakhosi does to prepare for the new season and return to the top two PSL sides. pic.twitter.com/aAUbLLOW5p Usher Komugisha (@UsherKomugisha) July 17, 2021
