MCF launches spring grant cycle | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 4, 2021 While the weather has been nothing but sludge and ice, Marietta Community Foundation is forecasting brighter days ahead. With the Foundation’s 2021 Spring Grant Cycle application deadline approaching, nonprofits and members of Washington County can look forward to another large community investment. “This is an exciting time for the Foundation,” said Mason Beuhring, Communications & Program Services Director. “Each spring and fall we get to see what projects, or programs, are being implemented to make our community better. Then, we get to come alongside our nonprofits to make their vision a reality!” Nonprofits, serving Washington County’s population, can apply to the Foundation’s grant cycle by downloading the application from their website, mcfohio.org/submit-grant-application.

GRACF awards 66 grants in 2020 annual grant cycle

The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation provides an open, Annual Grant Cycle for non-profit organizations that runs from July 15 – September 15. This past Annual Grant Cycle culminated in providing approximately $149,000 in grants to 30 nonprofit organizations and groups that serve the Greater Itasca Area.  2020 was a hard year for local nonprofits who had to become incredibly innovative during the pandemic. Non-Profit Spotlight:  The Grand Rapids Farmers Market is one of the organizations that received an award of $3,850 in the annual grant cycle of 2020.  The mission of the Grand Rapids Farmers Market is to increase public awareness of the economic and health benefits of producing and consuming locally grown food and provide the public with convenient access to locally grown food that is grown or produced within a 50 mile radius of Grand Rapids. Jan 18, 2021 An Oak Tree is one of the strongest trees that can be found in a forest, but its strength isn’t freely given to it… its strength is earned. This year has proven to be quite the storm, but, for Marietta Community Foundation, it was an opportunity to dig their roots deeper into the community to provide shelter to the citizens of Washington County. When 2020 began, the Foundation had just celebrated a record-setting year in 2019. Coming off of this high, the Foundation’s board and staff looked to keep the momentum going. However, an unexpected storm was looming in the distance… COVID-19.
