Man gunned down in Havendale

The dead man has been identified as 59-year-old Carlton Brown. Police report that about 11:45 am, Brown and the other man were travelling in a Toyota Wish motorcar and drove into the apartment complex where Brown resided. Before they could exit the vehicle, they were attacked by a gunman who opened fire and hit them both. Brown was shot in the head and upper body. Both men were taken to hospital where medical staff declared Brown dead. The other man is being treated for his injuries. As news of Brown’s death spread on Monday, residents of several communities along Mannings Hill Road were grief stricken. Brown is said to have fathered children in the area and was said to be a well-loved individual.

50-y-o held trying to make illegal gun sale in St Andrew- cops

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged by the Constant Spring Police with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and attempting to sell firearm without a licence on Mannings Hill Road, Kingston 8 on Friday, January 22. Reports are that at about 9:00 am, lawmen were on operation when they saw a man identified as Horace Kildare, a woodworker of New River district, Stony Hill, St Andrew driving a Toyota Corolla Axio motor car along the roadway. He was signaled to stop and he complied. Police said he was accosted, searched the following seized: One 9mm Beretta Parabellum pistol, one 9mm Trabzon Carandai pistol, two magazines 36 rounds of ammunition
