RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - More than $250,000 in grant funding will create a new workforce project through the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association (VRLTA) to help train workers across the commonwealth.
VRLTA announced plans Tuesday, April 13, for the $255,500 project to assist restaurant and hotel employees.
“The project has two parts: an upskilling and training program for unemployed and underemployed restaurant and hotel employees, and the enhancement of VRLTA’s industry-specific job board, which connects hospitality employers with job seekers,” a news release said.

AIPC, ICCA and UFI release good practice guide for reopening events
AIPC, ICCA and UFI have released the third and updated version of their ‘Good Practice Guide: Addressing Covid-19 Requirements for Re-opening Business Events’.
With an increasing number of markets around the world reopening business events, the guide aims to give businesses the confidence to reassure customers and visitors that business events can be operated in a controller manner.
The report is produced jointly by AIPC, the International Association of Convention Centres, ICCA, the International Convention and Congress Association, and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
Driven by their Joint Safety & Security Task Force, the three associations have been engaged in assisting their members, and the industry at large, since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis.
