Florida Gators lacrosse to host first and second round of NCAA tournament

Special report on the Florida Gators lacrosse team: GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The NCAA Tournament returns to Gainesville as the sixth-seeded Florida lacrosse team welcomes Mercer, Jacksonville and Vanderbilt to Donald R. Dizney Stadium.   Florida will be back in the friendly confines of The Diz on Friday, taking on the Mercer Bears at 4 p.m. That game will be streamed on ESPN3 and can be heard on FloridaGators.com/watch.     Approximately 45 minutes after the matchup between the Gators and the Bears, Jacksonville will take on Vanderbilt under the lights.    The winner of each of the first round matchups will face off on Sunday at 12 p.m. for a chance to make the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Lobos to Close Out Season at Utah State

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– Coming off of a series win against San José State, The University of New Mexico Lobos travel to Logan, Utah to close out the 2021 season at Utah State. The three-game series starts on Friday at noon MT with the second game to follow at 3 p.m. The series finale is set for Saturday at noon MT, with all three games on the Mountain West Network. A LOOK BACK BEFORE LOOKING AHEAD The Lobos closed out their home schedule with a series win over San Jose State, winning games two and three to not only snap a 14-game losing streak to the Spartans, but won their first series against SJSU since 1999. Rachael Hathoot and Andrea Howard put up huge numbers at the plate for the Lobos, with Hathoot leading with a .750 batting average, Howard leading with a 2.333 slugging percentage and both Albuquerque natives with an .800 on-base percentage. Florida Gators lacrosse earns number six overall seed

May 10, 2021 GAINESVILLE, Fla. –  Just over 24 hours after winning the 2021 American Athletic Conference Tournament, the Florida women’s lacrosse team received the sixth overall seed and earned hosting rights in the NCAA Tournament first and second rounds.     No. 6 seed Florida will face Mercer at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 14 at Donald R. Dizney Stadium, followed by a matchup between Jacksonville and Vanderbilt at 6:30 p.m. The winners of each game will face off on Sunday, with opening draw slated for 12 p.m.   UF enters the NCAA Tournament riding a 13-game win streak, going undefeated in conference play. The Gators are 2-1 against the Gainesville field and have gone 5-2 against the overall tournament field in the 2021 campaign.

Emerson College Student Inducted into Gold Key Honor Society Lilly Meehan-Egan, of Glenview, is among the 2021 Gold Key Honor Society Inductees for the academic year 2020-2021. The Gold Key Honor Society is an interdisciplinary organization founded at Emerson College in 1962 in order to recognize and encourage outstanding academic achievement. Membership in the Society is extended to juniors in the top 5 percent and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class who have earned at least 48 credits at Emerson. Meehan-Egan is pursuing a major in Political Communication and is a member of the Emerson College Class of 2022.
