Sources suggest as many as 10 employees of the Quality Pork plant in Brechin have tested positive for the virus. Around 15 other workers are understood to have been advised to self-isolate. The slaughterhouse, on the outskirts of the town, remains in operation. Company chiefs have declined to comment on the situation.

Police Blotter: Eight vehicle thefts in Silver Spring area Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between Dec. 6 and 12 By Dan Schere | Rockville area Thefts from vehicles A part was taken from a vehicle in the 5900 block of Montrose Road between Dec. 5 and 12. Force was reported. Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Nov. 29 and Dec. 10. Affected streets included Braxfield Court and the 12200 block of Academy Way. Money and property were taken from two vehicles between Dec. 6 and 12. The thefts happened in the 900 block of White Pine Place and the 200 block of Jay Drive. Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 14900 block of Dufief Mill Road between 3:30 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 11. Force was reported.

Rockville Teen Dies Two Weeks After Collision on Skateboard The teenager who was riding a skateboard when he collided with a car succumbed to his injuries Friday, about two weeks after the crash, police said. Alberto Barreto, 15, of Rockville, died at the hospital, where he was taken soon after the collision occurred. According to Montgomery County Police, Najeem Amin Jan, 47, of Dumfries, Va., was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius west on Montrose on Nov. 27 at about 10 p.m. The teenager was riding a skateboard and was crossing Montrose Road at Evelyn Drive when the collision occurred. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
