On Tuesday, May 25, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 59 will hold its annual meeting and voting for the following officers at Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia. Officers will serve the 2021-22 term.
The following have been nominated to serve Squadron 59 Sons of the American Legion: Commander: Rodney Dziduch; Vice Commanders: Doug McPherson and David “Duper” Winchell; Adjutant: Larry Fiorella; Chaplain: David Dengler; Finance Officer: Larry Fiorella; Historian: Tom Muldowney; Sgt. at Arms: Rick Holly; Veteran Advisor: Rick MacDonald.
The Sons of the American Legion is an organization made up of male descendants from veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Military Operations of Lebanon, Grenada, Panama and from the Persian Gulf War/War on Terrorism. Fostering Futures Scholarship Application Period Now Open

The Michigan Department of Treasury reminds young adults who have experienced foster care on or after their 13
th birthday that they are eligible to apply for a scholarship from the Fostering Futures Scholarship Trust Fund.
The Fostering Futures Scholarship application period for academic year 2021-22 will stay open until June 30, 2021. Eligible students enrolled at a Michigan degree-granting college or university may now apply to receive scholarship funds for tuition, fees, room, board, books and supplies. Fostering Futures Scholarships make a difference in the lives of our foster care youth who aspire to attend college, said Robin Lott, director of the Office of Postsecondary Financial Planning. Those who have experienced foster care typically don t have the support systems in place for college costs. Every dollar helps create opportunities for our youth who have experienced foster care.

EDMOND VIBES returns to downtown Edmond on Thursday for its second event of the season with new performing artists, special features and participating businesses for visitors of all ages to experience.
The free monthly, open-air art event, which will be from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Edmond, is hosted by Edmond Fine Arts Institute.
Attendees can anticipate new and returning artists and businesses from the inaugural event in April. The May VIBES will feature 34 participating businesses, 40 visual artists and more than 11 performing artists along Broadway. A variety of performances will be featured, including Madolynn Hayes, Jane Mays & Minnie Funk Band, Ciara Brooke, Edgar Cruz and more.
