Two area youth were recognized in the Pennsylvania Farm Show junior market steer competition.
Waylon Swope of Shirleysburg took third place in the lightweight Angus steer competition and Maddison Ross of Williamsburg captured third place honors in the crossbred-weight division 3 category.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cattle were judged without youth on-halter. Youth dropped off their cattle at New Holland Sales Arena for judging, followed by a sale open only to registered bidders.

Bedford brewery captures honors
The Olde Bedford Brewing Co. captured two awards in the third annual Pennsylvania Farm Show beer competition.
Spring House Saison Vermouth Barrel Aged captured second place and Bedford Butcher Brew captured third place in the barrel-aged category.
