Jagtial Halts Covid Tests Over Shortage of Testing Kits Apr 25, 2021, 15:14 IST For the second straight day, coronavirus testing was halted in the Jagtial district. This happened due to a shortage of Rapid testing kits. Most of the people in the district have been exhibiting symptoms of cold, cough, and fever. As the number of coronavirus cases are increasing, people are worried and are rushing to the hospitals for testing. But due to a lack of testing kits, they are not getting their tests done.  On Friday, more than a thousand people, who went to different hospitals across the district returned home without getting their coronavirus tests done and the same situation repeated on Saturday as well. 

IMD Forecast: These Telangana Districts Will Receive Rainfall

Apr 25, 2021, 11:53 IST Telangana: A thunderstorm alert has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad. Moderate to heavy rains will be witnessed between April 24 and April 28 in various parts of the state. For the past few days, Hyderabad has been experiencing evening rains. Experts say thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph, and hailstorms are likely to occur in isolated areas across Telangana. Hyderabad will also experience light to moderate rains as a result of pre-monsoon activities in various parts of the region. Rain or thunderstorms are expected to occur at night for the next three to four days, according to IMD.

Covid: 29 deaths, over 6k cases in Telangana

The death toll due to Covid-19 in Telangana continued to rise as 29 more people succumbed to the virus, the highest single-day fatalities since the pandemic broke out last year.The daily death toll, which was 23 on Wednesday, jumped to 29 .

‘Why cannot officials work when court works late in night?’ Telangana High Court on Friday instructed the State government to file a report explaining its preparedness to administer vaccination to all persons above 18 years of age from May 1 in the light of Centre’s announcement. A bench of Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy directed the Principal Home Secretary to file a status report by Tuesday with details of how it was planning administration of vaccine to inmates of prisons and old age homes along with the destitute in shelter homes and open places. The plan of action should be presented to the court by Monday.
