Ottawa County s nursing home in rare company with no COVID-19 case

SALEM TOWNSHIP - The spread of COVID-19 a year ago ravaged many nursing homes throughout the country they were among the hardest hit by the novel coronavirus. But one facility in Ottawa County managed to evade the crisis almost entirely. The Riverview Healthcare Campus, a county-owned nursing home in Salem Township just east of Oak Harbor, has not had a single case of COVID-19 among its residents, which is quite a rarity, according to its administrator, Kendra German. “While we knew we were a rarity, we did not realize how much of a rarity we were,” she said in a news release.
