A court in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday gave a local man capital punishment for stabbing a female bus attendant, whom he had had affections for, to death last year.
Nguyen Van Guong, 58, residing in the city’s Cu Chi District, had developed feelings for L.T.M.T., a female attendant on a bus route between Cu Chi Bus Station and An Nhon Tay Bus Station in the same district, according to court documents.
In late 2019, Guong started suspecting T. had a romantic relationship with N.V.D., the bus driver who was T.’s only other co-worker, and regularly traveled on D.and T.’s bus to spy on the pair.
2021/01/27 16:46 TAIPEI (Taiwan News) The scene of yellow, brown, and red cypress trees has attracted hordes of visitors to the small Tainan district of Liujia even before the festival themed around the tree starts Saturday (Jan. 30). Well-known vlogger Aiky pointed out that deciduous cypresses across Taiwan begin to change colors in December and maintain their hues until the following March. Aiky said those who wish to view the colorful foliage can take a train to the Linfengying train station and then walk 20 minutes to the site. After coming out of the station, find Tainan Route 60 (南60) in the traffic circle in front of the station, walk about 5 minutes along the street to where the street intersects Provincial Highway 1, and then make a left and continue walking until the deciduous cypress forests are in sight.

DGH not to use Chinese-made speed detectors: minister
By Shelley Shan / Staff reporter
Minister of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) yesterday ruled at a ministerial meeting that speed detectors must be accompanied by a signed affidavit that they contain no Chinese-made parts.
The ruling came a few days after a user named “Leo” wrote on Facebook that Eastern Science and Technology Co (東山科技), a local manufacturer who supplies speed measurement systems to the Directorate-General of Highways (DGH), uses components made in Hangzhou, China, and then places its label on the devices.
“Leo” said that speed measurement systems are a “massive surveillance program,” as the systems identify drivers’ license plate numbers and calculate their average speed between two points so that law enforcement can determine whether vehicles are speeding.
