Montgomery County records 161 new coronavirus cases, five deaths over three days

NORRISTOWN — The number of daily new coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continued to decline in Montgomery County, according to health data for the latest three-day period. The 161 daily new positive COVID-19 cases, reported in the county during the three-day period Saturday through Monday, brought the county’s total number of positive cases to 58,096 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the county’s COVID-19 online dashboard. One of the daily new cases was an individual who resided in a long-term care facility. Officials also reported five additional COVID-19 deaths during the most recent three-day period ending Monday, bringing the county’s death toll to 1,311 since the pandemic began a year ago.

Montgomery County records 130 new coronavirus cases in daily report

NORRISTOWN — As the 61st week of the coronavirus pandemic in Montgomery County came to a close on Friday, health officials reported that more than 100 additional county residents tested positive for the virus. The 130 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Friday brought the county’s total number of positive cases to 57,939 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county. Six of the daily new cases were individuals who resided in long-term care facilities. As of Friday, the 14-day average of daily positive COVID-19 cases stood at 134.5 which was a decrease from the 14-day average of 181.1 cases reported on April 30. Montgomery County authorizes $2 15M in coronavirus-related contracts

NORRISTOWN — The Montgomery County commissioners unanimously authorized more than $2.15 million for ongoing response effort as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact area residents. The seven-figure allotments were dispersed among 13 agreements dedicated to servicing county departments including health and human services, information and technology solutions and public safety. A $627,750 contract with several area providers secured ambulance services at a number of vaccination sites. Each participating company received $104,625 and they are as followed: Second Alarmers Rescue Association of Montgomery County, of Willow Grove, Gilbertsville Area Community Ambulance, of Gilbertsville, Goodwill Steam Fire Engine No. 1 Ambulance, of Pottstown, Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance, of Eagleville, Volunteer Medical Service Corp. of Lower Merion and Narberth, of Ardmore, and Plymouth Community Ambulance, of Plymouth Meeting.

The 84 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Thursday brought the county’s total number of positive cases to 57,809 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the county’s COVID-19 online dashboard. One of the daily new cases was an individual who resided in a long-term care facility. Officials also reported three additional COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, bringing the county’s death toll to 1,306 since the pandemic began a year ago.

Montgomery County records 73 new coronavirus cases in daily report

NORRISTOWN — For the second time this week, the number of reported daily new cases of the coronavirus in Montgomery County fell below 100 on Wednesday as signs continue to indicate the spring surge in cases may be easing. The 73 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Wednesday brought the county’s total number of positive cases to 57,728 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the county’s COVID-19 online dashboard. Two of the daily new cases were individuals who resided in long-term care facilities. On Monday, the county reported 79 new cases. On Tuesday, the county reported 125 new cases.
