After a decade of service with the Scituate Police Department, K-9 Tango has retired. Members of the department gathered for a celebratory send-off for Tango, an 11-year old German shepherd who was born and bred in the Czech Republic before joining SPD at age 11 months. “Working with Tango has been exciting, rewarding and overall enjoyable,” said Sgt. Brian McLaughlin, the K-9 officer.  “Tango makes the job easy for me.  He is a great partner – loyal, trustworthy and he’s always ready to work.” According to Police Chief Mark Thompson, Tango is trained in both tracking and narcotics detection. “He has served the department incredibly well and been a faithful partner to Sgt. McLaughlin for the past 10 years,” Thompson said.
