The Northwest Business Centre is looking to help local businesses in their recovery from the negative financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Grand Opportunity Recovery Fund provides businesses with a grant of up to $1,000.00 towards one-time professional marketing services that will aid in their business recovery.
Eligibility:
Operational since at least January 2020
Operates within Northwest Business Centre catchment area (Kenora and Rainy River Districts)
Successful applicants will gain direct, one-to-one business counsel from marketing strategists at Wake Marketing. The NWBC is looking to empower business owners to adapt and effectively market their business in the ongoing post-COVID economy.

Kenora District Homes have partnered with Fort Frances’s Riverside Health Care to deliver a series of new social engagement services across northwestern Ontario.
Delivered via telephone or video call, the services are intended to ease the impact of increased isolation on seniors and other vulnerable populations who are facing a reduced ability to socialize due to COVID-19. Seniors living alone within the Kenora and Rainy River Districts are provided with regular check-ins meant to help reduce any anxiety, depression, and loneliness that they may be feeling as a result of the pandemic.
