That’s not blarney, folks.
The Irish Marching Society will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 13 with a nontraditional driving parade through some of the city’s busiest thoroughfares.
The event will launch at 3 p.m. from the parking lot next to Don Carter Lanes on East State Street and will include two separate parade routes, according to Marching Society president Danny McDade.
“This is the one and only driving parade we’ll have,” McDade said, noting last year s parade and Paddyfest were scrubbed by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I want to draw attention to the fact that we are still here and have not given up.”
