On Friday night, a Mountville-area man was shot and killed inside his home following an argument, according to West Hempfield Township police.
West Hempfield Township police responded to a call at the 400 block of Hillside Drive for a dispute between two adults. When they arrived at the scene, they found Richard Williams with a single gunshot wound, police said.Â
Williams was then taken the Lancaster General Hospital where he died from his injuries.Â
Cherrelle Byrd, 34, has been charged with Criminal Homicide in relation to Williams death, police said.Â
West Hempfield Township police have stated that the homicide investigation is in relation to a domestic incident and that there is no threat to the public.
According to investigators, both speed and alcohol are suspected to have been factors in this crash.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. A 21-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed early Saturday morning in Warwick Township, police said.
On April 17, shortly after 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to Highlands Drive for a vehicle crash. The driver, Renny Kline of Lititz, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Kline was driving on Highlands Drive when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times before coming to a stop on its roof.

A Lititz man was killed early Saturday morning after a roll-over crash in Warwick Township, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional Police.
Renny Joel Kline, 21, was traveling north on Highlands Drive near the Breezy Knoll apartment complex south of Lititz at around 1 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve, police said in a news release.
Klineâs vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a rest on its roof, according to the news release. The vehicle was found resting against a gazebo.
Kline was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male passenger in the vehicle was transported to Lancaster General Hospital and is expected to survive, police said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Joshua Lott, the Burleson police officer who was shot three times on Wednesday, was released from the hospital on Thursday evening.
Multiple police agencies lined the parking lot as he exited John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. A caravan of patrol cars escorted him to his Burleson home.
About 4:15 a.m., Lott made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Hillside Drive, near Burleson High School.
The stop was made for a defective taillight or brake light, said Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell.
