The list of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic now includes the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet and Membership Meeting.The annual event includes the announcement of eight community awards.
Chamber officials say in the organization’s newsletter despite the cancellation of the banquet and membership meeting, they would still like to honor those who are an inspiration to the community and a credit to their profession.
Chamber members are invited to nominate candidates in the eight categories–Outstanding Business or Industry, Outstanding Organization, Educator of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Medical Professional of the Year, Spirit Award, Jim Gaston Friend of Tourism and Volunteer of the Year

The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce’s nationwide search for a new president and chief executive officer ended right in their back yard.
Danielle “Dani” Pugsley was selected for the position Tuesday after a vote of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Pugsley is currently the EAST facilitator for Mountain Home High School, which covers eighth through 12th grade.
A native of Springhill, Tennessee, Pugsley has spent the past 11 years in the Mountain Public School District, the last three in her current position. She holds an undergraduate degree in health and human performance from Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tennessee, as well as a Masters of Education in Theory and Practice, a Masters in Special Education and Educational Specialist degree in Education Leadership and Administration. She is enrolled in a program to earn her Doctorate in Education Administration and Leadership.
