Norwich road to shut for two months of roadworks

Eight weeks of work on Ella Road, in Thorpe Hamlet, is due to begin on Monday, May 10. Norfolk County Council says it needs to carry out what it describes as essential pavement maintenance on the road. The work in Ella Road is due to start on Monday, May 10. - Credit: Dan Grimmer The work will be done along the length of the road, from the Hill House Road junction to the St Leonards Road junction.

Police patrols increase for Stan Petersen Close stairs drugs

Published: 2:45 PM April 9, 2021    Norwich city councillor Ben Price is calling for measures to help deter drug dealing on the stairs running between Stan Petersen Close and Beatrice Road - Credit: Submitted A city councillor is calling for measures to be taken to help combat anti-social behaviour and drug issues as police patrols have increased in the area this week. Ben Price, who represents the Thorpe Hamlet ward of Norwich, has been in communication with police regarding drug dealing on the stairs which run between Stan Petersen Close and Beatrice Road.  A large quantity of drugs and cash was recovered in early April in the area, as extra patrols have been conducted around Hill House Road, Stan Petersen Close and Beatrice Road this week.
