FORT CARSON, Colo. (KRDO) - Thursday morning, Fort Carson paid tribute to 407 soldiers who lost their lives while deployed from the installation in a ceremony at the Mountain Post Warrior Memorial.
Maj. Gen. Matthew W. McFarlane, the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson commanding general, was this year s keynote speaker.
Since 2004, Fort Carson has honored the lives of Soldiers from the Mountain Post who have lost their lives in battle overseas. The names of two soldiers joined the 405 names of soldiers already engraved.
Prosecutors have charged a former top enlisted soldier of Fort Carson’s largest artillery unit with multiple counts of sexual misconduct involving girls and a private first class in his command.

FORT CARSON â Fort Carson held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for the new Intrepid Spirit Center.
The new facility will focus specifically on treating service members suffering from traumatic brain injuries and PTSD.
The money for the center is coming from the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which has already helped build similar facilities at other military bases around the country.
Healthcare specialists at the Mountain Post said this facility will be key to continuing their mission of helping care for soldiers on Fort Carson.
