PETALING JAYA: MCA will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the death of the party s founding president, the late Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock, in a special online ceremony on Sunday (Dec 13).
MCA vice-president Datuk Lim Ban Hong said the “Commemoration of Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock” will be streamed live at 3pm to abide by the conditional movement control order (MCO) in the Klang Valley.
Lim, who is the event s organising committee chairman, urged all MCA members and the public to join the ceremony through MCA’s official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MCAHQ/) for an hour.
“Tan was born on April 5, 1883, and breathed his last on Dec 13, 1960. He founded the MCA in 1949 to aid Malayan Chinese who were oppressed by the British colonial government.
